I have a 6 ft, Shakespeare Synergy graphite fishing rod, Medium Action that I would like to buy a spinning reel for, and as I usually go the "combo route", I don't know exactly what to get! I am looking , but I noticed that a lot of the reels seem to have different weights, and I don't want to get the wrong "weight" for the rod. I don't have a lot to spend, so I am trying to hold the cost to somewhere between $60.00 to $70.00, and at this point in my life ( though I hope that will change someday) I am a weekend/vacation fisherman, and I do my fishing in either small lakes ,or ponds and, if it makes any difference, I like to use soft baits. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Howdie......Welcome to the forum...I would put a Pflueger 6940 on it..I have a couple of them, and know a few other people that do too. It has 9+1 brgs (so very smooth)..stainless guts..and set up for braid, should you ever want to upgrade your line. IMO...a very nice reel for around $60.00....... ? .
