Lets see some hardware......This is my old Mossberg. I used it for trap shooting many years. I put a shorter barrel on it. Now it enjoys a comfortable retirement next to my bed...
Top is my Remington 700 chambered in 30.06. Below it is my Winchester 1300 12 gauge chambered for 3 inch.
Next we've got my newest addition, so new that I've not even been hunting with it yet, Mossberg 535 12 gauge chambered in 3 1/2 inch. I've fired it at targets but it's day in the woods is still coming.
And this I my Baby... This is the gun that saved my life! Mossberg 500 20 gauge chambered in 3 inch.
Shooting 3 inch magnum #2 buck shot, I don't even remember how many deer it's taken. And squirrels don't stand a chance!
I got more to come but maybe this is enough to wet the whistle for now.
2 Of my handguns. The P90 .45acp (top) is my favorite range gun. Its a monster, but i think the weight absorbs some of the recoil, my Dad gave it to me when i moved out. The P95 9mm is the first handgun i purchased on my own. I like the thumb safety/de-cocker. Its my EDC/CCW gun. Both are reliable, and run real good.........
This is my Kimber Pro Raptor.45acp. It was a Christmas present from Mom and Dad a couple yrs ago. Not one of my favorite range guns, and too heavy when loaded for me to CCW. so its really just a safe queen....But it sure is purdee..........
One of my revolvers . .357 Blackhawk. I really like the Wild West era guns. Single action revolvers, lever guns, etc. Plus im a history nerd..so it all fits...
Wow... You have some really interesing / beautiful guns. I think we would get along just fine.... I really like your Cimarron.........We do have a "Primitive" night at one of the outdoor ranges in my area. Its BP only. Its alot of fun, and most of us dress the part, but not as well as you do..........I have a Traditions 1858 Remy, Thompson Center .50 Hawken, and some cute Great Plains era / Saloon Girl outfits, so i fit right in.......... ?
Look forward to seeing that. In the meantime im going to research it some...lol I'm not all that up to speed on Civil War era stuff. But the learning part is 1/2 the fun........ ?
This is my Thompson-Hawken. I bought it used, and it came with the wrong sizr ramrod, but i have been using it. I enjoy the loading process associated with BP guns almost as much as shooting them...Except for the for the mess sometimes...LOL. But im getting better at it, and i have 4 cylinders for my 58Remy, so i load them all up at home before i get to the range.
I like that...It looks like something you would find in the glove box of the Batmobile...... ? . Im taking my new SW.40 to the range tomorrow. Meeting my friend from the office there. Hopefully i will get to shoot hers.
Very,,very nice/interesting stuff there. The Weatherby is beautiful, would make a nice trap gun. You have some guns i would love to shoot (including the Springfield)...Whats the deal with the Double Brrl shotguns at the bottom. Looks like they have exposed hammers, are they old....? You been holdin out on me.......lol
This is my Mossberg Silver Reserve...Its been my trap gun for the last 2 yrs. I'm good for 20-22 out of 25 every week....I even win a round sometimes. If its really cold and windy....keeps the artsy-fartsys, with the $3,000.00 guns at home....lol
The O/U is almost a must for shooting doubles (or an auto, but shells flying on the grid is poor etiquette...lol..)The O/U has a single sight plane, Giving it an advantage over the side by side, which is important when trying to get that 2nd shot off quick, and on target... The SxS is probably a better SD/HD gun, due to it spreading shot horizontally. Plus it just looks meaner...lol
Those old dbl brls, and that single shot are the things that make us smile when nobodys around...The memories made, and family bond. Judging from your Avatar, you have somebody special to pass your treasures down to, that will appreciate them.... ?
While i was at the range/LGS today i finally bought the "correct" size ramrod for my Thompson .50. Looks much better, and now the Daniel Booners can stop Harangin me about it on Primitive Night...LOL
I'm going to guess the revolver is a LeMat, its featured in 2 of the Old Gun Guide books i Have...?
The only advantage the Mossy would have that i can think of right away in that scenario. Would be that you dont have to move your trigger finger out of the trigger guard to go safety off...
Other Mossberg advantages.....Dual extractors...lighter weight due to alloy reciever
And the shell lifter stays in the up position for loading, so if you just painted you nails, they dont get all scratched up...lol (also easier / quicker to re-load with gloves on)
Ha..Ha.. I'm a Mossberg girl...born and raised....Brothers have had a big influence on me too. I cant count how much flak they took from their friends growing up about their little sister tagging along everywhere with them..or how many kids they beat up over it....They were my hero's...still are...... ?
This is my TS995, 9mmCarbine. Its a blast to shoot, and very accurate out to 50yrds. Probably farther if i put some type of optic on it, but its too much fun to shoot with open sights....Plus being 9mm, its not real expensive to shoot...
I found this a few weeks ago in my favorite gun shop... It's an older Rock Island 1911 - 45 ACP... Not in bad shape but it came with 2 extra mags and a tactical holster for them and the pistol. I liked the way it shot so well that I used it to qualify in my concealed carry class. I really have a thing for 1911s ?
Nice shootin.....How many 1911s do you have...? I guess they can be addictive .. My Brother also has a "thing" for them. I dont know how many he has...but his latest is a Ruger SR1911. Its beautiful...i hope he lets me shoot it sometime..
Sadly it's the only one I have right now but I've owned a few in the past. I'm saving up for a Colt Defender 45 as my primary CCHG and that $900 - $1000 is slow in coming LoL Right now I have a Taurus 24/7 40 cal that's my primary, but I'm not quite as accurate with it, but I'm getting there.
That Ruger is sharp and I'm sure you'll convince him to let you squeeze off a few rounds. ?
Yes PX4 Compact Type F Has the safety / de-cocker Excellent gun and a breeze to shoot and handle . Had about 6 months with nearly a 1000 rounds threw it with ZERO issues . This will be my CCW when I find a decent holster. I'm a lefty so it's been a challenge.
Bassfanatic
I really like those, might have to put it on my "wish list" Its getting harder to find a hammer fired gun with those safety features. Seems like everybody just wants to make GLOCK copies these days.
I built that from a rough kit from Dixie Gun Works. *Be fair warned* If you purchase a "Rough" kit from Dixie Gun Works, you're gonna get a ROUGH kit from Dixie Gun Works! Mine still had mill marks on the barrel. The walnut handles were just two shaped blocks of wood. The brass still had casting slag on it! ?
But it came out beautiful. Now, years later, I need to polish the brass and reblue the steel.
Oh... By the way. When that photo was taken, I wasn't trying to pose. I hate when folks do that, don't you? I was just simply trying to get off my aching feet! ?
Are "Daniel Booners" anything like what we call "Thread Counters" in reenacting?
Those are the guys who actually look at the stitching in uniforms and count the buttons on your drawers to be sure you're authentic. Yet, once in a while, you'll catch them on the battle filed checking the time on their digital watch. ?
Muddawg
We have a few like that...But most of them are just there to have fun, and appreciate if you at least try to look the part. My Saloon girl outfits really look authentic, my Mom helped me alot with them (i cant sew). But my coonskin is fake....im not puttin a dead animal on my head.......lol
Actually the wood stocked gun (model 50104) was bought just a few months before the middle 500E, and is the slickest working of the two (cost me about $292.00 out the door)
The all black one is a Special purpose model 50455 that came from the factory with a rear pistol grip, I didn't like it very much and replaced it with a 13.5 inch stock.
Is that an M44.......? If so i have shot one a bunch. My Dad is into old military rifles, and has 2 of them. Lots of fun to shoot, 7.62 x 54 kicks like a mule. Similar to his 30-06 bolt guns.
Okay, now I know what a "Flex" is.
I'll have to fire up the camera. I got a pretty cool collection myself but, now that you mention it, vevry few if any pictures.
Okay, let's try this.

Here's a pair of deer slayers!

And last one for today...lol. I just got this one .40 S&W. so have not fired it yet. But hope to get out to the range this weekend.

This is my Thompson-Hawken. I bought it used, and it came with the wrong sizr ramrod, but i have been using it. My Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm

Another one of my Mossberg 500s. I won this one in a Chili Cook Off at the shooting range 2 months ago....

I love that gun, though I think I gain 15 pounds when I have it and the 2 extra mags strapped on ?
That Ruger is sharp and I'm sure you'll convince him to let you squeeze off a few rounds. ?
My Taurus PT 24/7 G2 40 cal - Less than a hundred rounds through it, though it's supposed to be nice here tomorrow and I'm gonna work it out!

My Phoenix Arm HP 22A - I read a bunch of bad reviews AFTER I bought it, but it's performed perfectly for me.

Here are my three favorites.

Something I just threw together....

Ron

The 44 Remington with the 7 1/2 inch barrel?
I built that from a rough kit from Dixie Gun Works. *Be fair warned* If you purchase a "Rough" kit from Dixie Gun Works, you're gonna get a ROUGH kit from Dixie Gun Works! I have been Deer huntimg a few times with my Dad, and Brothers, but didnt see anything, or have a shot...But ,no...im not much of a hunter...
And the s&w Gov. is just awesome. ?
